Pro's: Very high strength and speed that will demand respect. Has an above average to excellent conditioning compared to this years draft class which will be a stong draw for teams looking for an every down LB/OLB. Combination of power and speed should allow Atreyu to blow by and through opponents rather than finesseing his way to the QB. Has respectable acceleration off the ball and a history of wrapping up the opposing player to finish the tackle.
Cons: A bit tight in the hips. Seems to rely more on speed and power rather than finesse. A problem which may have influenced his low vertical test. Low vertical test means teams should not expect too many defended passes out in the flats, couple that with poor hands and interceptions should not be an expected output of Atreyu's.
Overall: Strong fast reliable tackler. Power should be able to compenate easily for the tight hips in pass/run rushing situations. Above average conditioning should allow Atreyu to remain on the field and be a continuous headache for the opposing offensive line. Strength and speed may warrant double teams and open up holes in opposing offenses that free up other team members to make a play. Weak hands and tight hips may make Atreyu a liability in 3rd and long situations although speed may be able to compensate. Atreyu seems to be a player more suited to a 3-4 defensive scheme rather than a 4-3 scheme. Has a fine grasp of the game but needs to work on his awareness to become a star player.
Final analysis: While he will need a small amount of coaching to prevent overplaying the ball he will still have an immense and immediate impact on the defense, especially in the run defense. Expect him to be drafted somewhere in the first 3rounds with a strong possibility of sneaking into the first round.
